Information on the Refugee Council

The Refugee council of Thuringia (e.V.) is an independent non-governmental organization that aims to protect refugee rights and to improve conditions for asylum seekers. We want to reduce prejudices and fight against the discrimination of refugees in Thuringia. We draw attention to inhumane conditions and ill-treatment in the accommodation of refugees. We also comment on current political developments concerning refugees. We offer consultation and legal information for refugees. Lastly, we offer information and training for people who support refugees professionally as well as on a voluntary basis.

We

• consult and support organizations and people lobbying for the rights of refugees
• support and plan actions for the rights of refugees in Thuringia
• engage with the actual political situation and initiate press and media activities
• offer consultation for single cases in questions concerning the asylum procedure, the Dublin-procedure, social rights and education/ work for asylum seekers in Germany
